By the time we adjourned for Christmas dinner the ingress of water had reduced greatly. However, we continued to battle with an annoying leak in the vicinity of the shaft log on Maybird’s aft port quarter.
By early January the water ingress had slowed to a level of 6” in the deepest part of the bilge in 18 hours. Despite our best efforts to fix the leak from the inside, we resolved to take her ashore for a permanent fix.
